Key Principles

The SlimBody4Life Fat Burning program is based on the following principles:

The SlimBody4Life Program is a Fat Burning program, it is designed with a focus on helping people change their body composition by burning fat. Weight loss may be a by-product of this process but for us it is not a primary indicator of success. Changes in body composition as indicated by measurements of key target areas or changes in dress size will give a more accurate indication of how you are progressing.  Weighing yourself may not always truly reflect the success you are having as by exercising you will be adding muscle which is heavier than fat with the result their may be no significant loss in weight.

 

• The SlimBody4Life program is a holistic approach to fat burning and weight loss and is founded on the belief that for optimal fat burning success there needs to be a combination of aerobic exercise, toning and shaping exercises and healthy eating.

• Regular and routine low to moderate activity is the key to successful fat burning and weight loss. This should be a combination of increased planned physical activity (ie. an exercise program such as SlimBody4Life) and incidental physical activity (ie. an increase in physical activity during the course of the day such as walking to work, taking the stairs, playing with the kids etc.). High intensity exercise/physical activity means we will switch to burning more carbohydrates than fat and thus inhibit our efforts to burn more fat.

The SlimBody4Life Method is a low to moderate intensity workout that will ensure that 
predominantly fat is burned as fuel.

• Aerobic Exercise is directly the most effective in burning fat as fat only burns in the presence of oxygen. The SlimBody4Life Method is a form of aerobic exercise that causes you body to use its aerobic processes to combine the oxygen, supplied by the increased and deeper breathing, with fat to generate the energy necessary to sustain the increased activity that results from performing the SlimBody4Life exercises.

• A key mechanism to help our bodies burn more fat and lose weight is to increase the speed of our metabolism. This will enable us to burn more calories/kilojoules and so tap into our fat stores whilst at rest whilst helping us to more efficiently use fat as a fuel source whilst exercising. The toning and shaping exercises part of the SlimBody4Life Method will help to increase you learn muscle tissue and as a consequence increase your metabolic rate and so your ability to burn calories/kilojoules.

• Fad Diets don’t work. A sound eating plan that teaches you to eat the right foods in the right proportions, such as the SlimBody4Life Healthy Eating Plan when combined with an exercise regime will ensure the optimal success of any fat burning or weight loss program.

• Once you have successfully achieved your ideal body fat levels and weight the key to success is to ensure that you keep your energy intake in balance with your energy output. Making healthy eating, exercise and increased incidental physical activity part of your life will help you achieve and maintain this balance.
