All breathing requires diaphragmatic action, though the term ‘diaphragmatic breathing’ refers specifically to special breathing techniques that focus on consciously using the diaphragm to enhance the way air is drawn into and pushed out of the lungs.
The diaphragm is a muscle just like a bicep or abdominal. It is round, flat and thin and sits under the ribcage, attached to the ribs. Like any muscle it can be trained to enhance its potential and this is what the SlimBody4Life Breathing Method is all about. . Breathing is the action of increasing and decreasing pressure within the upper and middle cavities of our rib cage, which is done using the action of the diaphragm. The lungs themselves don’t change the pressure, they fill or empty according to the action of the diaphragm. Most of the time, during shallow breathing or even during normal breathing, the diaphragm moves up and down little more than a centimeter or so which does little to really fill or empty the lungs.
Breathing that is deep and long trains the diaphragm for greater elasticity by extending its range of stretch and allowing it to relax and contract further and in doing so increase the amount of air that is inhaled in as well as the amount of carbon dioxide and other toxins that are exhaled out.
The SLIMBODY4LIFE technique stretches the diaphragm on the inhalation by pulling it down further than normal breathing does. This significantly increases the size of the chest cavity and decreases the pressure within the chest cavity and air is sucked in.
On the exhalation, the SLIMBODY4LIFE technique has the abdomen being pulled in which gets the diaphragm to contract back up under the ribs. This pushes all the air out by increasing the pressure within the chest cavity. If the exhalation is deep enough and combined with an abdominal lift, the diaphragm actually retracts to it minimal size and reaches a relaxed state with very little pressure on it. A lot of effort is required for these actions, but once in the rhythm of the cycle the stretching of the diaphragm gives a bit of a sling-shot action that makes it easier.
With the SlimBody4Life Breathing method you will increase the range of the diaphragms movement and so your body’s ability to breathe. You will no longer be a shallow breather and will enabling your body to have access to all the oxygen it needs for healthy living.
